What do these two photos have in common? Well, (1) obviously I’m in both photos, (2) I’m actually out with the same group of friends, and (3) a denim shirt.
If you’re visiting my blog for the first time, about six weeks ago, my husband and I started a weight loss journey to return to healthier versions of ourselves. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that I posted a mini update the other day to reflect my current weight loss of 17.8 pounds! Woohoo!! The journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s totally worth it!
For me, one of the biggest obstacles I’m currently facing is being able to see the results. Yes, I see the number on the scale; however, when I look in the mirror, I just see the same ole’ me. It makes me slightly frustrated, but not frustrated enough to quit. I know my body is changing, so I push through that frustration. The biggest thing I have to remind myself is that I am my own worst critic, and I must stay focused on the goal.
Going back to the photo, I want to share with you the main differences which keep me focused on my overall journey and goal. The photo on the left was taken on September 17, 2016, and the photo on the right was taken on January 15, 2017. Six weeks before that picture on the right was taken, Jacob and I started our journey to healthier versions of ourselves. By January 15, 2017, I was 15.2 pounds lighter and I could button up my favorite denim shirt. As I mentioned, it’s hard for me to see the results in the mirror. However, I do not doubt my body has changed–as evident by my denim shirt.
With this #MondayMotivation, I want to remind everyone to keep going and to never give up on your weight loss goal. I know, it’s not easy. I know, the results may not be “visible”. But, you can do this!
Last night, Jacob and I had a great time out with friends in Avondale. It…
Jacob and I have been enjoying our unexpected, long weekend due to “snow”…
